The Lotte World Tower
or Seoul Sky, is a tower with a height of 555 meters, making it the tallest tower in South Korea. Its 123 floors are home to apartments, hotel rooms and offices. On the top six floors there is a viewing platform with a glass floor, the highest indoor glass platform in the world. There is also an outdoor platform with incredible views, cafés and a restaurant and of course there are shows and an elevator that offers a breathtaking show.
The special feature is that the skyscraper is slightly narrower at the top and then splits into two halves. These halves are connected by a bridge, the “Sky Bridge”, which is accessible under great safety precautions. This Sky Bridge tour is not to be missed.
The Lotte World Tower is easy to get to by subway. The station is right next to the tower and you can reach the entrance underground. A visit to the Lotte World Tower can also be combined with a visit to the Lotte Mall. It offers plenty of stores, cafés and restaurants. There is also an aquarium and cinema to discover. The entrance to the tower is somewhat hidden, so it's best to keep your eyes open. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance or online beforehand. From here you can continue to the elevator.
The way to the elevator is a highlight in itself and is accompanied by a show of lights and effects.
The elevator ride itself is an incredible experience
Koreans love the progress of the latest technology. So you will not only find these beautifully staged elevators everywhere, but also light shows in museums and here on the 117th floor there is a separate media room with lots of shows.
On the Sky Deck on the 118th floor you will find the highest indoor glass floor at 478 meters. Here you can take dizzying photos on the glass floor. The view down is simply incredible.
A little higher up, on the 120th floor, there is an outdoor terrace. The view of Seoul at 486 meters is stunning!
Of course, there are also cafés and a great restaurant on various floors.
There is also a souvenir store, of course ;)
For all tours, especially the Bridge Tour, there is the opportunity to enjoy this highlight in very special lighting conditions at sunset.
We treated ourselves to a Sky Bridge Tour! I can only recommend it!
The view alone is worth it
Under great safety precautions and with perfect equipment, you first go up many steps inside the building with only a few other participants and 3 guides. Then you go outside. Here you hook yourself onto the rope with your safety hook and are secured by this rope the entire time.
We now climb up an endless number of stairs outside the building until we reach a platform. Here you are given detailed instructions again and each group that has booked the tour together is allowed to take photos alone on this bridge for a good 10 minutes and enjoy the view. Afterwards, a photographer takes great pictures of everyone on the bridge, which you can buy later in the souvenir store. There is also a certificate at the end of the tour. This certificate confirms that you have successfully climbed the Sky Bridge. It is a nice souvenir.
